Committees

This committee participates in activities to plan/organize/present educational programs for monthly meetings and workshops.

This committee responds to the needs of SLPs in various settings as well as provides information/awareness of those needs to HACD. Current special interest groups include: Health Care Task Force, Public School Task Force, Private Practice, Audiology, Fluency, and Supervision.

This committee participates in activities to generate funds for HACD (such as soliciting funds for monthly meetings, workshops, and scholarships, soliciting goods and services for scholarship winners, science fair winners, the silent auction, etc.).

This committee participates in activities to promote public awareness of the field of communication disorders: Subcommittees include: Public Awareness, Speaker’s Bureau, Awards, and Awards Banquet.

This committee assists in activities that promote membership in HACD and mentors students in the Communication Disorders Department at the University of Houston, Lamar University, and the Distance Learning Program at Texas Women’s University.

This committee welcomes visitors and new members to general meetings and prepares refreshments for general meetings

This committee assists in collecting and reporting information regarding issues/activities occurring in the legislature

This committee also assists with coordinating meetings with local Legislators and discusses issues related to Speech-Language Pathology in all settings.

Members throughout Harris, Fort-Bend, Brazoria County and beyond are welcome.
